Yeah, it’s cryptic and possibly the name of our next epic mix tape; evidence of the creative, er, energy (psychosis?) a group of 4 develops with 4 weeks in a van (4-n-4…the new single for James and Anily’s band, Murder Music?).
Anyway, posting pics and video is a challenge so that’ll have to come later, when we have real internet access (and real beer, too, hopefully). For now, a quick update:
1. We stayed in Raglan for a few days: great town, great surf.
2. We went to Northland: Bad weather, no surf, great thermal waterpark, fantastic wine and pizza
3. We drove back to auckland, missing the random tornado attack by about an hour but getting caught in crazy traffic and inexplicable rental car chaos nonetheless
4. Ashley went back to work :-(. Jason and kids stayed in Auckland, mostly at the Ponsonby International Food Court.
5.We traveled to Syndey. I (ashley) will be working here next week. Took a tour around yesterday, made about 14 circles through Kings Cross and Darlinghurst (not on purpose) and also went out to Manly Beach (on purpose)
Heading to Bondi Beach today, hope to surf. Happy Mother’s Day!
We’ve worked our way up the North Island in a kind of zig zag: Taranacki on the SW coast; across through Rotorua to the Bay of Plenty, where we spent a few days in Ohope beach; then across and north again to Waikato, with a stop in Tauranga for a late lunch and then on to camp at the Wairunga Hot Springs, where they’ve created thermal pools and water slides from the hot springs (an excellent way to end a day of surfing and driving); at present we’re in Raglan, the focal point of NZ surfing and home of Manu Bay (longest left in the world, featured in Endless Summer). We’re finally full of breakfast, buzzed on coffee, and up-to-date on the blog so…off to the beach!!!
